A brief look at the world game

Let’s do a sports report because we haven’t done one in a while and it’s been pretty momentous lately. Well, in particular the football has, the round ball code. The Premier League finished on the weekend and Manchester City won by one point from Liverpool. Those two teams completely dominated the season, the third team Chelsea finishing 25 points behind Liverpool. It is no coincidence that the two most insightful and inspiring managers, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, fought out the finish, managers with a vision of a positive and creative way the game should be played. Over the season as a whole, Manchester City deserved to win. Liverpool improved during the course of the season, and probably finished the better team, as demonstrated by their incredible win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final earlier in the week. It is interesting that the other Champions League finalist, Tottenham Hotspur, is coached by the other most fascinating character among the managers, Maurizio Pocchetino. Nevertheless I feel that Liverpool will be too good for Spurs in the final. Just at the moment, they are probably the best team in the world.
